Do I need to cancel my energy contract myself to switch to dynamic?
Yes, you need to arrange your energy contract yourself. FlexiO/LIFEPOWR is NOT an energy supplier.

Steps:
1. Choose a dynamic supplier (Engie Dynamic, Bolt, Frank Energie, etc.)
2. Request the new contract - the new supplier usually handles the switch
3. Update your tariff in the MyFlexiO app once it's active

Recommendation: Consider an ePOWR tariff (available via Trevion or Energy Knights) for:
1 year free FlexiO subscription (partners may offer additional free time)
- Automatic ePOWR participation
- Lower energy prices

Does FlexiO savings calculation include the subscription fee?
No, the savings and earnings you see in the MyFlexiO app do not account for the subscription fee (€9.95/month for battery, €4.95/month for charging station, or €14.90/month for both). You need to subtract the subscription yourself to calculate your net result.
Does FlexiO support quarter-hourly prices (15-minute tariffs)?
Yes, since October 2025 FlexiO supports quarter-hourly prices (15-minute tariffs). For some energy supplier its automatically set. You can adjust this yourself in the MyFlexiO app under tariff settings. Note: this is only relevant for dynamic tariffs.
How do I interpret the graphs in the MyFlexiO app?
The MyFlexiO app has a History page where you can view several graphs showing different aspects of your home's energy use and production. Here's how to read each one:
Navigating the graphs
By default, the app shows today's data. To view a different day, tap "Today" and navigate to the date you want. You can tap any graph to see more details.
Consumption graph
Shows how much electricity your home has used throughout the day. The total consumption for that day appears at the top.
Solar graph
Displays how much solar energy your panels have generated, as measured by FlexiO. The total solar production for the day is shown at the top.
Grid graph
Shows your interaction with the electricity grid:
• Red = electricity you've taken from the grid (import)
• Blue = electricity you've sent back to the grid (injection)
Battery Level graph
If you have a battery, this shows how full or empty it was throughout the day. It also highlights the lowest and highest battery levels as percentages.
How long does it take for FlexiO to show results?
FlexiO starts controlling your system immediately after activation. Your first savings calculation becomes visible after about 1 month, and grid balancing payouts arrive after 2-3 months. You'll see optimal results after 3-6 months, once the algorithm has learned your consumption pattern.
My battery is not discharging while prices are high
FlexiO optimises 24 hours ahead. Sometimes the battery is intentionally kept charged because even higher prices are expected later, it needs to remain available for grid balancing, or to limit battery degradation. It's best not to evaluate FlexiO's strategy on a moment-by-moment basis — look at results over a longer period.
What are the EV charging modes in FlexiO?
FlexiO offers 5 EV charging modes:
• Smart charging — charges faster when energy is cheap, slower when expensive (recommended)
• Eco charging — only charges when the price drops below the limit you set
• Peak avoidance — charges quickly without increasing your monthly capacity peak
• Solar charging — only uses excess solar energy
• Constant charging — charges at a fixed current you choose (ignores peak)
You can select your preferred mode in the MyFlexiO app under the EV tab.
What are the password requirements for my FlexiO account?
Your password for the MyFlexiO app must meet the following requirements:

Minimum requirements:
- At least 8 characters long
- At least 1 uppercase letter (A-Z)
- At least 1 lowercase letter (a-z)
- At least 1 special character (such as ?!@#)

Forgot your password?*
Use the 'Forgot password?' function in the MyFlexiO app or at my.flexio.energy to create a new password.
What battery capacity is ideal for FlexiO?
Your installer knows best what the ideal system dimensions are for your personal situation. But as a rule of thumb: your battery capacity should be 1x - 1,5x your daily consumption.

Example:
- Total annual consumption: 4000 kWh
- Daily consumption: ~11 kWh
- Recommended battery: 10-15 kWh

Considerations:
- A smaller battery (e.g., 5 kWh) also works, but provides smaller savings and earnings
- You can compare different battery capacities using the simulation tool at lifepowr.io
- Larger batteries offer more flexibility for grid balancing

Request a simulation:
Use the 'Calculate what FlexiO can do for you' form on the LIFEPOWR website.
What if I switch energy suppliers?
As soon as your new energy contract is active, update the tariff in the MyFlexiO app under Settings > FlexiObox > Energy tariff. There's no need to restart FlexiO. Note that your EAN code stays the same when switching suppliers.
