What is the difference between grid balancing via energy supplier and via grid operator?
FlexiO offeres grid balancing in two types: rPOWR for grid operators, and ePOWR for energy suppliers. In some cases, both types can be combined. The biggest differences are:

Payout terms: ePOWR with your energy bill, rPOWR after 3 months.
- Technical process: rPOWR works with reserved battery capacity and steers on grid frequency. While ePOWR is on wholesale energy markets and looks at real time system imbalance.

Want more information about the types of grid balancing we offer? Read it here: https://docs.lifepowr.io/user/v1/flexio-insights
What is the difference between solar charging and eco mode?
Solar charging only uses your excess solar energy.  no sun means no charging. It's the greenest option. Eco mode only charges when the energy price is below a limit you set, regardless of the source. If you want fully automatic cost optimisation without setting thresholds, use Smart mode instead.
What is the difference between the app and web portal?
The MyFlexiO app (iOS/Android) and my.flexio.energy (web) display the same data. You can use the same login for both.
What is the peak test in grid balancing and why does my monthly peak increase?
The aggressive charging and discharging behavior you notice is the result of a peak test - a test that must be performed to prepare your installation for grid balancing.

Why is this needed?
This test demonstrates that your battery installation meets the grid operator's requirements.

Benefits after the test:
- Once the monthly peak has been raised, more flexibility is created
- FlexiO can charge/discharge at higher power during favorable moments
- This leads to more savings over time

Important: The first month is often not yet profitable (startup phase), but from the second month onwards returns become more favorable. FlexiO only performs actions when expected returns outweigh the costs.
When does my tariff change become active in FlexiO?
Tariff changes in the MyFlexiO app are synchronized with the FlexiObox once per day.

After changing your tariff:
• The old tariff remains visible in the app briefly
• The change is processed overnight
• From the next day, FlexiO controls according to the new tariff

Tip: Change your tariff as soon as your contract is active, then it will be operational the next day.
Which charger does FlexiO prefer for new installations?
FlexiO has no specific preference - choose a charger from the compatibility list at lifepowr.io/chargers
Will I get a refund if my FlexiObox was offline for a long time?
If your FlexiObox and energy installation is configured and installed correctly, your system should fallback on self consumption.

If your system is offline due to your local internet connection issues, LIFEPOWR will not refund your subscription fee. If a system is offline for several days, LIFEPOWR will send you an email to notify you. Always check your spam folder.
Are cascade inverters (multiple inverters) compatible with FlexiO?
Currently, cascade inverters (multiple inverters in series, e.g., 2 Huawei inverters with 1 battery) are not yet supported, but this is on the roadmap.

In a cascade configuration, the first inverter acts as master and the others as slaves. There is no timeline yet for when this functionality will become available.

Check the current compatibility list at lifepowr.io/inverters
Can FlexiO control my Tesla charger?
The standard Tesla charger cannot be controlled by FlexiO.

What FlexiO does do:
• The charger is recognised as a large consumer
• FlexiO takes this into account to not drain the battery
• The monthly peak is protected

For full charger control, you need a compatible charger. See the list at: lifepowr.io/chargers
Can FlexiO send a signal to start other appliances (e.g., washing machine)?
No, FlexiO currently does not control external appliances like washing machines, not even via smart grid ready systems. This doesn't fit with FlexiO's core focus: hassle-free automatic optimisation of battery and charging station. FlexiO balances between capacity tariff, self-consumption, dynamic prices and grid balancing - without you having to intervene.
